Pro Sports
The
Richmond Flying Squirrels are the city's minor league baseball team which is part of the Eastern League. The team is also the Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants major league franchise. You can catch all the sports action on the field at the Diamond.

Hiking, Biking & Trails
The
James River Park features some of the finest hiking and recreation trails in Richmond. It is here that you will find Pony Pasture and Belle Isle, two sites of the most popular trails. These trails run from downtown to the Fan and because of the incredibly natural surroundings, there will be times that you will feel like you're in the middle of nowhere.

The Maymont section of
Byrd Park is where you will find a captivating and inviting set of recreational trails. While you will want to bring water, a working cell phone and a camera as neccessities, remember to be extra careful as there are several bears in this part of the park!

Three Lakes Park offers plenty of recreation and much to look at as you hike on the trail that winds through the three lakes. Both aquatic and avian wildlife is plentiful, and the trail is a great diversion. Located in northern Henrico, this trail gains more popularity by the day.

With the
James River running through downtown Richmond, it's nearly impossible to find an excuse to stay away from having some aquatic fun. Pocahontas State Park. The park is not far from downtown, and when you get there, you'll find several recreation and sports activities to enjoy that include swimming, boating, fishing, horseback riding and biking.

James River that runs through the city is one of the most popular places to go fishing.
